Arrangement of street lighting in Latvia is becoming increasingly urgent, not just thinking about the lighter streets and security, but also for the energy efficiency of lighting infrastructure. Public lighting energy audit and proposals for lighting systems arrangement is also a part of a local Sustainable Energy Action Plan (SEAP) development.
The main objective of street lighting energy audit is optimal planning of lighting system developement in accordance with the standards. Thus, the local government and the responsible institutions will be able to make reasonable and consistent decisions about investments in certain lighting lines and modernization of equipment, and all the public lighting system.
Street lighting energy audit consists of two main divisions: the assessment of existing situation of street lighting system and proposals for organizing the system and increasing energy efficiency. The current assessment of the situation is based on the information obtained in inspection of the public lighting infrastructure and monitoring, as well as the analysis of power consumption data.
Street lighting energy audits are carried aot by using professional software - „DIALux”un „RELUX”.
