In 2006 after the Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, in Riga Technical University, Aivars continued to study Master degree, while also working in RTU Institute of Environmental and Energy Systems as head of the laboratory. In 2012 Aivars earned his Doctoral degree in Environmental science, environmental engineering sub-sector with a doctoral thesis "Modular Solar and Pellet Combisystem for Apartment Buildings. Experimental Research and Optimization" and was the first prize winner in the nomination "The new environmental scientist" in competition "Environmental Science Award 2012"/LZA.

Consequently with Doctoral studies Aivars began working as a researcher and assistant professor in RTU VASSI, where he works even today. Overall, Aivars has developed more than 50 publications in Environmental Engineering field. It should be noted that Aivars participated in the development of 4 patents. Aivars Žandeckis also works as an expert in both the Latvian Council of Science (environmental science, environmental engineering sub-sector) and the Riga Planning Region.

He started his career in Ekodoma in April 2015 and has already participated in several projects, where he proved himself perfectly as a competent specialist and excelent project manager.

The native side of Aivars is Rezekne, but now he lives in Riga and at the highest level is fluent in Latvian, Russian and English.
